Urban League Adds Two Top Posts NEW YORK The anooint ments of Dr. Warren M. Banner and Nelson C. Jackson to the two new po ts of associate director v-ere announced today (Feb. 6) by Lester B. Granger, executive di rector of the National Urban League. Dr. Banner formerly was di rector of research and commun ity projects. He joined the 47- year old interracial social work agency as a research assistant in 1936 and has served the League continuously since then. In his new position he will handle the added administrative duties in volving the agency’s busness af fairs, the management of the new national headquarters building, and the supervision of projects dealing with United Funds, Com munity Chests and related cam paigns throughout the nation. Mr. Jackson will assume added reipcnsiibilities connected with the improvement of field consul tant services to local affiliates, especially in the South, and with the expansion of agency relations with other national social welfare organizations, both public and pri vate. Mr. Jackson entered the league movement in 1946 aj director of Southern Field Division with of fices in Atlanta. He was appointed director of the community ser vices in 1952. A graduate of More house College; Atlanta University, School of Social Work; and the University of Michigan, where he received the degree, master of social work, and further work at the University of Chicago Social Services Administration. The other two drectors, R. Mau rice Moss and Frank C. Montero, will continue in their posts. As an interracial social service agency, the National Urban League operates in 62 cities and 31 states.
