Dorothea has made quite a splash in the world of fashion since ELKS’ TO SPONSOR ORATORICAL CONTEST The Elks, IBPGEW will spon sor their oratorical contest March 17 in the Booker T. Washington High School auditorium at 3 Prize-: will be awarded school with the largest attendance also the lodge or temple with the largest number of members. A grand parade from Elks Club and back will be one of the high lights. We hope that this affair will be highly represented by members and friends. FLA. NORMAL ANNOUNCES 1957 SUMMER SESSION Florida Normal and Industrial Memorial College announces, its, summer session, which be gins Monday, June 10 and extends ■through Friday, August 3. Eight •semester hours may be earned in the summer session. Dean Lawrence C. Bryant, di rector of summer school, stated that the pre-registration reports indicate a large enrollment. Special features of the summer session will be the work-shop in reading and teaching the slow learner. Other course offerings will be in the area of general ed ucation, driver education, library methods, English, history and organization, speech, reading courses in physical education. The summer cession will offer the regular college courses leading to the bachelor of science degree. Olivia Rogers sold the greatest number of tickets. Dt. Alta Screen, our fir t class chauffeur, drove the deputy to Ocala where they visited the In dustrial School for Girls. Later they stopped in Orlando where (he deputy visited old friends. Dt. Screen states that Orlando is making ready to receive the Elk? in April. She will chauffeur the delegation of her Temple to the State Association. Tom ester Riv ers, daughter of Dt. Rivers, is walking everywhere and Daddy Tammy can’t keep up with her. I Dt. Williams and Dt. Hester Rivers are bringing some good looking, sharp-looking ladies into Elkdom. How we welcome them! Dt. Amelia Shavers went over the top when she sponsored a party for the benefit of the Past Daughter Rulers’ Council, and gave her Temple a nice sum money. Hats off to Dt. Shaver?. Wish there were more like her. Dt. Marie Walker is still herself. Dt. Lillie Mae Isom, who was out of the city because of Illness, should be at home now. Dt.
