This was a momentous occasion. Some of the best musi cal talent of Key West were ob tained for the service. This was the first drive under the incum bent pastor, the Rev. H. H. Zan ders who has launched a $3,000 rally to conclude the second Sun day night in March. Proceeds from the rally will be used to make necessary repairs on Bethel church’s parsonage where even now work is in pro gress. When the repairs and mod eling are completed Bethel will be able to boast of a church rec tory commensurate with the stat us the church holds in the AME connection. He came to Lanier 16 years ago at the age of 22 from Florida A and M College where he received his bachelor’s degree. Some months ago Mr. Round tree became ill and was taken to the Memorial Hospital in Holly wood, but was later transferred to Jackson Memorial in Miami, where he died. Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 1 at p.m. at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Rev. O. W. Foster officiating. Burial took place in Shady Grove Cemetery, Leesburgh. He is survived by his wife, Gladiola; two sons, Harry Ronald and George Carver; a daughter, Mary; four brothers, one sister and . three aunts. Range Funeral Home was in charge.
