NC)— Communist school authorities in Croatia, Yugoslavia, are preparing to “crack down” on Catholic chil dren in state-controlled schools who still cling to their religion de spite efforts to indoctrinate them in atheistic Marxism. This was indicated in reports here of a three day closed meeting of school inspectors and headmas ters in the People’s Republic, to lay plans to undermine the religion of the Catholic pupils. Catholic circles in Zagreb were reported concerned lest the meet ing herald a new plan that would represent a further step in the program begun in the state .schools in 1945 to train young people in patterns of “progressive thought” based upon Marxism. Speakers at the meeting com plained especially that many teacher* in the state schools at tend Mass regularly, and thus have a "bad effect" on the mind and character of the children. They said that this was one of the main reasons why the "progress ive" program has not yet fully penetrated the classrooms. One of the chief decisions of the meeting was to submit to the Min ister of Education in the Croatian provincial government a list of 120 church-going teachers who were recommended to he dismissed or retired on pension as "unsuitable.” Meanwhile, lean Leko, a noted atheist, urged the school officials to introduce as soon as possible a plan for the “elimination of the remnants of the Middle Ages” from the schools Object to Rosaries He was backed by a Red school inspector named Stoyanovich. who ADam* 1547 Story Fold Of Early Church In Ohio ed the Apostle of Ohio, and who was to become the state’s first Bish op in 1821. Wh i 1 e we were sleep ing, Marx, the nineteenth cen tury Judas, took not a purse but the world’s symbol of sacrif i e. The result is that modern Christianity preaches a Christ without a Cross, a Jesus who is not a Saviour, and a teacher who is not a Redeeer. of Christianity. In the meantime, Communism takes the Cross without the Christ, and in the name of Satan bids men deny themselves to es tablish the Kingdom of anti-God on the earth. The 87 Communist members of the French Parlia ment inspired by this Christless cross turn over their salary to the Communist Party some rich men in America sacrifice vast sums to spread the anti-religion of Communism the young fan atics in China promise not to wear shoes and never to work less than 18 hours a day to crush the "evils” of religion, democ racy and the freedom of the spirit. The Christ without the Cross is anti-Christ the Cross without Christ is sacrifice for the sake not of love but hate! Until we unite both the Cross and Christ in our lives, we will never con quer Communism. Were we not called "to be conformable to His Death” and to “the fellowship of His sufferings”?
