The other commit tee talked over the plans for the proposed city-wide Talent Show. Tom Althauser chairmanned this committee, consisting of Joan Di neen. Pamela Bush. Jeamne Schnei dec and others. The decisions 01 these groups will be made known at a meeting of all the CYO presi dents to be held very soon. The Deanery Council of Catholic Youth will hold its monthly meet ings in parishes of the city during the coming months. The first meet ing. to be held this Sunday eve ning, will be at the Corpus Christi parish hall. President Bill Beck met with his executive board this past week and planned the agenda for the meeting. The discussion will be on “Devotion to the Bless ed .Mother”, which is the topic out lined for youth groups by the Di ocesan Council. The Eastern Deanery Council of Catholic Youth named their Dean ery chairmen during the past week. Miss Imelda Kunkier of Junction City is the Social Chairman, Miss Anna Mae Lane of St. Mary, Lan caster. is the Religious activities chairman while Paul Kemp of Lan caster is the Cultural chairman. The Council at its last meeting dis cussed the plans for putting the Fiesta program into the Deanery for the week after Easter. Mr. Tom Keys of St. Catharine parish. Mr. Francis Specht of Cor pus Christi parish and Mr. Hilary Folk of Christ the King parish will head the Committee on Catholic Scouting for lhe coming year. This committee is the group that looks out for Catholic interests in Scout ing and also furthers the work of Scouting among the atholic par ishes. 'lhe regular meeting of the committee is the 4th 'l ue.-day night of every other month. The pro gram for the scout troops of the citv i- an energetic one foi this year A woi k project and fish fry for scouts and scouters is planned for the middle of May. The annual Holy Hour and ourt of Honor is scheduled for the usual April date and plans are being made for a scout retreat .sometime during the summer. Children Will Hold Day Of Prayer For Peace VATICAN CITY —(Radio, NO— His Holiness Pope Pius XII has approved a worldwide Children’s Day of prayer for peace in the world, to be held in May of the Marian Year. The exact date of the Day of Prayer has not yet been announced.
