June 10, at St. Joseph Academy. There will be a brief meeting at five thirty that afternoon, followed by Benediction of the Blessed Sacra ment at six o'clock offered by Father Lawrence J. Corcoran, Mod erator of the Columbus Chapter. The banquet willl be served at six thirty, and election of officers for the ensuing two years will be held at its conclusion. Rehring has stated the Toledo diocese faces a “serious short age” of priests as 30 have died in the past two and one-half years and only three are being ordained for the diocese this year, and there will be only three "at the most” next year. LeBuffe, S.J.. educator, lecturer. Sodality leader and long a prominent figure in Catholic press work, died (May 27) at French Hospital, here, following a heart attack. He was 69 years old. to his residence at Christmastime, and continued work on a new two volume series of "My Changeless Friend” and a volume of medita tions on the Collects of the Mass. Born in Charleston, S.C- in 1885, Father LeBuffe attended Gonzaga College High School, Washington. D.C., from 1897 until 1901 when he joined the Society of Jesus. He was ordained in 1915. From 1920 to 1922, Father Le Buffe was Regent of the Fordham University of School of Law. He then served a year as associate ed itor of America, and from 1923 to 1926 he was Dean of the Fordham University School of Social Serv ice. In 1926. he became business manager of the America Press, serving in that post until 1938. For this period a year later, he was also managing editor of Thought. Father LeBuffe was president of the Catholic Anthropological Con ference from 1940 to 1942 moder ator of the Catholic Evidence Guild since 1928. and for many years was prominent in the activities of the Catholic Press Association of the United States. Recently he served as Regional Secretary of the So dality of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He is survived by two sisters. Sis. ter Clotilda of Notre Dame Con vent, Queens Village. Sr. Marian, O.P., I o Attend Catholic I On Scholarship Sister Marion, O. P.. of the music department at St. Mary of the Springs College, has been awarded a tuition scholarship for graduate work in music next term at the Ca tholic University of America. Wash ington. D.C. Sister Marian earned her B.S. degree in Music Education at Ohio State University in 1942. She later attended Fordham University, the Yale Music School and Pius School of Liturgical Music, New York City. Sister also has had extensive ex perience in choir work, having trained the Boy Choir under the direction of Constantino Yon at St. Vincent Ferrer, New York City. In addition, she directed the mixed choir at St. Mary church. New Haven. Conn. O.F.M., died in a convent at Pozega. Yugo slavia (on May 10) at the age of 84. according to the Vatican City daily. Osservatore Romano. He had been raised to the Hierarchy in 1924 and served in Belgrade until 1936.
