The hope is based on an ex panding native clergy and a cooperation between Church and all those interested in the welfare of the island peoples. Bishop Thomas J. Feeney. Caroline and Marshall Islands, an area of two million square miles— “most of it water.” It’s a mission territory where a priest’s life is “work, sweat, heat, more work,” and where a Bishop must combine the roles of admiral of the fleet, construction engineer, dialectician, medical expert, and staunch travel er.
