Speaking on “The Catholic Hour,” the rector of St. Charles Seminary contrasted what he described as “the prudence of the flesh” to the prudence as exemplified by the Blessed Virgin. First year high school classes nave been held in Watterson high school during the final stages of construction. The rapidly rising enrollment required the use of the new classrooms. A statement to this effect has been made here by the Sacred Congregation of Rites, which issued the decree simplifying the rules. The statement declared: “It must be noted that such a reform will still require several years. Consequently, not only pres ent breviaries and missals will keep their practical value, but also those which eventually may have to be printed in the meantime. As prescribed in the decree, the latter must conform in wery respect to the present texts.” A false prudence which manifests itself into a “mean and selfish concern about one’s own comfort or pleasure or temporal profit” was scored Sunday in a nation-wide radio address by Msgr.
