They urged the Dutch gov ernment to emphasize the problem in the minds of the Dutch people. The Travel League also annound ed that earlier in the week Arch bishop Joseph F. Rummel of New Orleans led a group which sailed from his See city for Brazil aboard the SS Del Sud of the Delta Line. Bishop Thomas K. Gorman of Dallas-Fort Worth and Auxiliary Bishop Leo C. Byrne of St. Louis are acting as spiritual directors to the two groups that left from New York. In all. 33 members of the clergy and 60 lay people from 13 states left on the pilgrimage led by Arch bishop Rummel. The third and largest pilgrimage from the United States to the Con gress sailed from New York, July 7, with His Eminence Fran cis Cardinal Spellman, Archbishop of New York, leading more than 300 persons. Private school building is expected to show a slight drop for the first time since the war, al though overall school construction will reach a record level. New churches built during 1955 will cost $750,000,000, a rise of 26 per cent from last year's rec ord. estimates state. This year's ex penditures will be more than dou ble the yearly average of $349. 000.000 since the war and are $125,000,000 higher than *he No vember government estimate. Outlays for new private school construction will amount to $500,000,00 in 1955 a decline of five per cent from 1954 record of $529,000,000. Expenditures in this category thus show a drop for the first time since the end of the war.
