Bishop-Rams Aquinas-West Games Are Friday Features All diocesan teams swing into action again this week with five games set for Friday, three Satur day and one Sunday. The top Co lumbus action will come off to night when Zanesville Rosecrans and Columbus St. Mary both with identical one and one records, clash at Jones Field and Aquinas carries its two game unbeaten mark to Columbus West, winners of one game in two tries. Marion St. Mary will ba try ing for thraa in a row whan thay tackle Cardington on the latter's field while Columbus St. Charles travels to Washington C. H. where they'll put their one win and a tie against the Blue Lions. Columbus Rosary should get a test at Groveport where the Cru saders will be going for win num ber three after having knocked off Hebron and Rosecrans. Saturday night Dennison St. Mary will try to get on the right track while playing host to Ohio Deaf. The Blue Waves ran into a strong Norwalk St. Paul team last week and were beaten, 52-0. Dover St. Joseph will be looking for its first win against Warren St. Mary The Catholic Elementary Foot ball League opened its twenty ninth season of play last Sunday at the Chillicothe Veterans Hospital. It was not only the first game of the season but it was also the first victory ever accomplished by the St. Gabriel team, which last year failed to win a game in any sport. The score was St. Gabriel 14, St. Francis 0. The remainder of the opening set of games was played this week. Light Heavyweight League Friday, Sept. 30—Holy Rosary vs. Immaculate Conception (Whet stone) Heavyweight League Friday. Sept. 30—St. Aloysius Christi after bowing to the Massillon Jun ior team, 25-7 last Saturday. Portsmouth Notre Dame tests Fairland in another Saturday tilt on the Titans’ field. Notre Dame is hopeful of their first win in this one. They lost to Portsmouth West, 28-0 last week. Sunday, Newark St. Francis travels to New Lexington where the Green Wave will be seeking their second win when they meet St. Aloysius, losers of its first two games. Columbus Aquinas and St Char les kept their unbeaten string alive last week when the Terriers con quered Chillicothe 18-14 and St. Charles held Columbus Central to a 7-7 tie. Marion St. Mary contin ued to roll with a 34-6 win over Elm Valley and Columbus Rosary stopped Rosecrans one game string with a 19-6 win over the Bishops at Zanesville. Ken Neville’s Columbus St. Mary club came up to the 500 mark when they downed Enon. 9-0 and Newark St. Francis started out where it left off with a 26-12 vic tory over Frazeysburg.
