Mattingly Leaves Rosecrans
To Take Toledo Coaching Job
Dick Mattingly, popular Janesville Rosecrans. foot
ball coach and athletic director, announced last week he
will leave the Bishop athletic scene at the close of the cur
rent school year to accept a head basketball and assistant
football position at the new Toledo St Francis high school.
Mattingly, who has guided
Bishop teams ever since the

after the merging of St. Thomas
and St Nicholas, will also head
up the Physical Education Divi
sion at the Toledo school
A 1943 graduate of St. Thomas,
Mattingly played varsity football
at Muskingum College three
years and then upon graduation

sons before moving on to Rose

His basketball record at Rose
crans was 79 wins against 25 loss

won 26. lost 11 and played one
