Dayton, Kentucky, St. Louis
and the defending champion, No
tre Dame, were the four teams
scheduled to make up the field.

transmit the decision not to
participate in the Sugar Bowl
Basketball Tournament of De
cember 28th, 29th of this year.
In addition to fundamental con

Council was motivated by the
desire to have our varsity
teams represent and be sup

body, which includes a proper*

The Sugar Bowl Tournament
was plaasantly anticipatad and
we regret that the legislation
to which you drew our atten

reached. Our association with
your Executiva Committee has
always been cordial and we
hope that House Bill No. 1412
will be revised so as to permit
our return to New Orleans."
Father Collins said University
officials did not care to comment
further on the action.
