WO. 9-2437 Jets Battle Miami For Catholic Youth “Catholic Camp Night,” the one evening of the year when all the proceeds of the Columbus Jets baseball game goes to the Diocese of Columbus for the benefit of St. Rita and St. Joseph Camps, will be observed Tuesday, May 14. That evening, the Jets will tangle with the Miami Marlins in a game which will get under way at 8 p.m. In case of rain, "Camp Night" will be observed Wodnesdey with the same team providing the opposition for the Jets. Special tickets to the game may be obtained from any Knights of Columbus member as the event is being sponsored again by the five Columbus K Councils. Tickets also can be purchased at 246 E. Town St., and Jet stadium before the game. Use of tickets purchased prior to the opening of the season will not benefit “Camp Night'' and therefore those who plan to at tend are urged to buy the eve ning tickets. Reserved seat tickets, which are purchased from any K of mem ber. can be exchanged for box seat tickets at the gate for an ad ditional 50 cents. Eastmoor made Aquinas its first track victim of the season hy knocking off the Terriers, 77 33. St. Charles finished third in a quadrangular track meet with 19 points. The Catholic track meet was held annually beginning in 1930 before being discontinued during World War II. It was sponsored by the Catholic School Athletic Association and later under the guidance of the athletic depart- Bishops Win Baseball Title At Cambridge ZANESVILLE Bishop Rose ci ans High School won the Class AA sectional baseball tournament last week by defeating Cambridge High School. 7-2, in the finals played at Cambridge. The Bishops thereby earned the right to compete in the district tourney, which was to be held this week at Bridgeport. Rosecrans gained the bracket finals by knocking off Dover High School, 9-4, in the semi-finals. The Bishops won the crown, on the strong arm of Bill McDon ald, who twirled a six-hitter and also blasted out a home run.
