James W. Owens, lawyer and Con
federate veteran of Annapolis, has re
turned te bis home on King George
street, where he is convalescing from
an operation which he"had performed
about three weeks ago. the operation

i He was a patient at the Presbyterian
eye, ear and throat hospital, Balti
more.
Though still in a weakened ‘ condi
tion, Mr. Owen's genera! condition of
health is slowly improving. He will
| not be able to leave his residence
for several days, however. The many
friends of Mr. Owens are glad to learn
of his recovery from the delicate op-
S oration. He is one of the city’s old
est citizens, having rounded the four
score-anrt-two mark on Septemlor 29
last.
