January 19. the Patrons* Community Club of Iglehart School had one of its largest meetings. It was quite interesting. Mrs. Ware, the 'ruant officer, stopped in to see how •he school was coming on and for a locial chat and not knowing that the dub was bolding its monthly meet ing. She spoke a few words on the mbject of keeping the children at icliool although as she said there was io complaint to make of Iglehart school. Her talk was very inslruc ive and interesting, more so as all lie. mothers were present. As this first meeting or the year 1923 t was decided not to wait until April Tor election of Officers but arranr.e the reconstruction by having the election the first month of the year. The new officers were installed. They are: President, Mrs. Henry Lctarnl; vico-president, Mrs. George Evans; secretary, Mrs. Bessie Woyfveh; treasurer, Mrs. Charles Brown. The talk is on for some surprise for Washington's Birthday. Miss Ariine Duvall, the youngest daughter of C. Milton Duvall, of this place, died at the home of .her sister, Mrs. Mary Knadler. in Washington, D. C. Friday. Miss Duvall had been a sufferer for three years from tuber culosis of the throat and had been an inmate of the Rabilllsville Hospital, where she went for treatment. 8he x seemed to recuperate for a while and was taken to the home of her sister Jin Washington, where recently she .grew worse. Her funeral took place from Salem M. E. Church Saturday afternoon. She is survived by her father, several sisters and a brother, G. Cleveland Duvall, of this locality. There will be the same music that we had at the New Year's dance. Willio Childs is at the Emergency Hospital, Annapolis, recovering from the effects of a painful accident. A tree was being cut down. Mr. Childs in trying to get away from it stumbl ed and fell. The tree fell on his leg. breaking it just above the ankle.
