straight frames from the team rep
ressing Company “M.” ly the de
risive margin of 98 pins. The team
scores were; Elk#, 1,424; Company
”M" 1.326.
The soldier toys were left way in
the wake in the first game, but pick
ed up in the second and did even
better in the third, a difference o*
only 8 pins separating them from the
winners in that engagement. Though
no exceptionally high scores were
made, the Elks rolled In steady form
throughout. Levy, however, fell down
in the third game. John Taylor Of
the Klks, registered high score for
tiie night's rolling, with a total of
301. and Roulmun, also of the Elks
was second, with 284. Anderson
roiled high for Company “M.” his
score ielng 284. Last night's contest 1
marked the beginning of the round
of the series.

FREDERICK, Mar. 2.—Culminating
In a gun i attle which resulted in the
capture of one of the alleged bandits.]
about half a dozen men raided the
I onded warehouse of tho OuterLridge
Horsey Distilling Company, at Burk
ittsvllle. 14 miles southwest of here,
early today and escaped with between
25 and 40 cases of whiskey.
A man giving tue name of Andrew
McCarthy, of Baltimore, was arrested
eoon after the robt era fled. In a
: tatoment made to the police, Mc-
Carthy said that most of the bandits
i < ante from Baltimore. He said that
half a dozen aufomohiles were used
t ) carry the whiskey away.
Notified of the robbery, the city
police waited for the speeding auto
mobiles. When they tried to halt
them the drivers “stepped on {he gas”
; and sped down the street in the di
rection of Baltimore at a terrific rate
;of speed.
Frank H. Rudy, one of the three
guards at the distillery, said they had
just completed u round of the prop
erty and had returned to the office
when a noise outside attracted them,
i A man carrying a lantern was seen
running from the warehouse. The
guards fired nearly a dozen shots,
Rudy said, and the bandits fired one
This morning's robbery of the distil
lery was the third in two years.
