The existing situation, has developed from the fact j that Peterson has been out of the game • with an attack of “flu.” He is now J convalescent, however, and is expected ! to give a big lift in the several big i games now confronting t*e team before j the West Point Tracas. The middies' are not only counting on taming the < Soldiers when they clash on thej Plains up the Hudson, June 2, but here will also be an imer-service field and track meet and tennis match on the same date, and they have high hopes of registering a triple victory. They feel that such a triumph would, in away, offset the defeat on the ? rid iron last fall. The field and track contest between the rival students promises to be a corker, as Army is reported to have excellent representa ives in the hurdles and weight events, two lines in which tho middies have mtshone other rivals this season. Dubexiez. star centre of the Army bas ketball team last fall, has been put ing the shot well over 40 feet, better han Carney or any other Navy man ias done this season. Ntickinen To .Meet .Syracuse The middies’ lacrosse team is now rounding out another wonderful sea on, their seventh, without suffering iefeat. The climax of their campaign will come next Saturday when they ’face Syracuse, the only team they did not meet last year, although cham pionship laurels were practically com plete without a victory over the Grange. The coming game will be played at Syracuse. With the varsity and second varsity ’rows meeting Syracuse crews on the Severn, and the Navy-Syracuse la crosse game away, and the baseball team also playing on foreign soils, meeting the University of Pennsyl vania, the middies will stage three other events under home environ ments next Saturday. Tho card will he: Field and trtek with George own; tennis with University of Michigan, and rifle shooting with the Quantico Marines. The coming Wednesday the middies will engage in one of the biggest local hall games, playing Georgetown. The mine day the tennis team will meet Lafayette. BANDSMEN ARE ACQUITTED OF GRAVE CHARGES (Contlnned from Png* 1.) master. Henry J. Peterman, to the ef fect that they would give $5 to have him ‘‘knocked off.” These alleged re narks were made one day last month lear the Naval Academy armory, and while Mr. Peterman's section of the 'and was being rehearsed on the field. Hie bandsmen all denied having made ho remarks attributed to them, and it was further shown that nil that was add on that particular occasion was lone In a more or less casual and Jok ng manner. Others Involved In Probe Also involved in the investigation were Bandsmen Charles Ceska and 'Or nest DeSantis, but the cases against hose t\vf> were of a far less serious na ture, and their exhortation was said to have been apparent from the be ginning. Now that the investigation is over and the men restored to duty, the at mosphere among members of the band is said to have been cleared up con siderably, and that a better under standing prevails all around. Although no official announcement on the subject has been made, it is understood that the board's investiga ‘ion disclosed certain conditions apart ’rom the band ifself that will likely >e tlie subject of a thorough probe in he near future, and which will affect other service units within the Naval Academy. ■■ ■■ ■ t ANNAPOLIS Waste Paper Company 21 Shaw Street We buy all kinds of junk, scrap iron and metal.
