ON' some boilers 700 degs. of heat Is thrown away. making a loss ot 1-3 the fuel. The question is oiten asked how can this be saved. Mr. Blanchard has invented, a boiler that takes perfect control ol all the heat andmakes it do duty in the engine. This is very simple in its construction; alter the engine is in motion the smoke pipe is closed tight, and the waste heat carried through heaters, heating the steam to any temperature desired; the remainder carried through the water heater, using up all the waste heat but 200degs.; the heat being reduced so low there can be no danger of setting fires by sparks thrown from engines, which will add much value to this invention, besides the saving 1-3 the fuel.
