The County Council proposes
to quitclaim the aforesaid sur

NOTICE IS HEREBY given;
That, on April 24, 1961, the May
or and Council of the Town of
Gaithersburg adopted an Ordi
nance, titled as follows. This
new ordinance was necessitated
by the delay resulting from liti
gation involving the legality of
the 1960-61 budget, such litiga
tion having been resolved in fa
vor of the Town, by a recent de
cision of the Maryland Court
of Appeals. The Ordinance may
be examined during the regular
business hours at the Municipal
Office in the Civic Center in
Gaithersburg, and which will
become effective, by its terms,
on May 15, 1961.
ORDINANCE of the Mayor
and Council of The Town of
Gaithersburg, Maryland, to re
peal Ordinance No. 2-60, hereto
fore adopted on May 2, 1960, to
authorize the borrowing by the
Town of the sum of Eighty
Thousand Dollars ($80,000.)
pursuant to the authority of Ar
ticle 11-E of the Constitution of
Maryland, Sections 31 to 39, in
clusive, of Article 23-A of the
Annotated Code of Maryland
(1957 Edition), and the Char
ter of The Town of Gaithers
burg, and to provide that such
borrowing shall be evidenced by
the issue by the Town, upon its
full faith and credit, of its se
rial maturity general obligation
coupon bonds, maturing over a
period of fifteen (15) years, be
ginning with the year 1962 to
and including the year 1976,
said bonds to be known as
"Street Improvement Bonds of
1961,” and to be dated June 1,
1961; providing that the pro
; eeeds of sale of said bonds shall
j be expended upon the construc
tion or reconstruction of streets,
curbs and gutters in the Town
and the repayment of the bal
ance due on a temporary loan
made to cover the cost of con
structing a storm sewer in the
Town and all proper expenses
incurred in connection with the
foregoing; authorizing the sale

competitive bids at public sale
by publication and otherwise;
prescribing the form of said
bonds, the maturities thereof,
and all other details incident to

viding for the levy and collec
tion of ad valorem taxes upon
property within the corporate

15. If, before the expiration

less than twenty* per centum
(20%) of the qualified voters
of the town and requesting that
the ordinance, or any part
thereof, be submitted to a vote
of the qualified voters of the
town for their approval or dis
