The pantomime will be done by the junior MYF and is directed by Mrs. Nancy Youdin. The children will also sing. This is the annual Christmas meet ing of the Women’s Society. ** * * The Christmas .Candlelight Service will be held on Sunday evening at eight. The adults and young people are partici pating. Mrs. William Bradley, Mrs. James Gartner, Mrs. E. C. Wayne, Mrs. Sam Neide, Mrs. Malcolm Wright, and Mrs. John Harvill are principals. * • . Grace Church’s J.O.Y. Circle j will present their annual Christ mas program on Sunday eve ning, December 17, at seven. • The children of the Sunday school will do “The Story of the Christmas Carols.” * * * The Church of the Brethren will hold their Youth Fellow ship Christmas social at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Max Myers on Sunday evening, De cember 17. The First Baptist Church’s annual Christmas program will be presented at 6:15 on Sunday evening. Following this, the youth group will conduct the service.- Fred Ames, a seminar ian, will speak. Linda Edwards, a student at Frostburg, will also speak. Newport Mill Music Program Scheduled Friday Orchestra and chorus of New port Mill Junior High School will present their third annual music concert In the school audi torium December 15 at 8 p.m. Theme for the program is. “Music for a Holiday.” Mrs. Rose Hornyak, chairman of the school music department, is director of the 75-voice cho rus; John Stephens, director of the school’s instrumental pro gram, conducts the 82-piece or chestra. Abigail Ritt, Amanda Cooper and Joan Lowe are student ac companists for the program. Orchestral numbers will in clude “Azure Mist,” “A Trum peter’s Lullaby,” “Beguine for Flutes” and "Sleigh Ride.” Choral selections are “Jingle Bells,” “Troika,” "Noel, Noel,” "Christmas Song,” “O Come All Ye Faithful,” "Hark, the Herald Angels Sing” and "White Christ mas. ” The audience will participate hi community singing. > Twenty-one members of the i j Washington Grove Homemak ■ | ers’ Club met at the home of : Mrs. Carl Franck last Thurs day. Under the title, “This Movie Stars A Commission,” the mag azine describes the development and use of the new 20-minute! WSSC film, “Investment With A Future.” American City points out more than half of the movie narration is provided by mem | bers of the commission and its staff, offering a "personal ap proach aimed at emphasizing vitality and sincerity.” According to the magazine, the film "features the history of the system, the operation of facilities and maintenance pro cedures. Dahlstrom, 1614 Bruce rd., Silver Spring, assistant supervisor of the Polaris Di vision of the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Lab oratory, has been honored by the Navy with a Distinguished Public Service Award for his work in evaluating results of flight tests of the Polaris from a submerged submarine. Dr. Dahlstrom was prasied for his "unique and superior profes sional ability, sound judgment and keen foresight.” T ‘ j Ellen Bridges to Make Yule Trip to South America Miss Ellen Bridges, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert W. Bridges of 207 Upton st., Rock ville, will leave New York De ; cember 21 on a Varig Air Lines jetliner for a 6,000-mile flight to Montevideo, Uruguay. During a three-week trip, El len will be visiting Miss Margar et Kuter, who attended Richard Montgomery High School during the 1960-61 school year. Margar et, who was an exchange stu dent here in the nationwide pro gram operated by the American Field Service, lived with the Bridges family during her stay here, and maejf many friends In Rockville. Ellen, who has never travell ed by air before, admits to some qualms at the thought of flying for six hours over the trackless Brazilian jungles. However, she is looking forward to an unus ual Christmas vacation basking in the sun on Montevideo’s beautiful beaches, since it is summer now in Uruguay. The Kuster family has pro mised to take Ellen into the countryside to see the famous “gauchos", and to Buenos Aires and Rio de Janeiro.
