Nine County Students Win
Gas Light Company Stock
Nine Montgomery County
high school students were
among 41 in the Washington
area who received complimen
tary shares of stock in the
Washington Gas Light Co. in
recognition of outstanding
school records.
The awards were presented
Tuesday at the company’s an
nual junior stockholders' pro
gram which was attended not
only by the new stock recip
ients, but those who received
similar honors a year ago. The
session was conducted by Don
ald S. Bittinger, company presi
dent.
Purpose of the annual pro
gram, Bittinger said, is to help
teach the principles of Amer
ican economy to high school
students. “Through the junior
stockholder program we are
lending support in a modest
way to the economic education
programs of our area schools,”
he declared.
Boys and girls are chosen by
their schools and the stock is
allotted on a quota basis in
proportion to the high school
enrollments of nine are school

Formerly operating from

doubled in the last year, ac
cording to Hugh P. Donoghue,
corporation president.
Donaghue said the new quar

special needs of one of the fast
est growing data-processing or

pansion program, he noted, and
space has been provided for an
j advanced type of electric com

[ future.
Datatrol made Its debut in
1960 with Donaghue as its only
full time employe. At the end
of the fiscal year next August,
the president predicted, he will
employ about 100 highly spe

double the number on the pay
roll last August.
Incorporated in the new
quarters are the corporation's
five major divisions—training,

IBM Speeds Program
The Montgomery County
Board of Realtors is utilizing
IBM unit record equipment to
step up its program to help
home buyers locate property of
their choice.
In providing weekly listings
of homes for some 1000 sales
representatives in the real es
tate feild, the board has taken
advantage of IBM accounting
equipment to detail individual
house particulars including the
price, number of rooms, struc
tural style, heating facilities
and other factors of interest to
purchasers.
According to a board spokes
man, the equipment spares
member agencies from the
tedious job of updating month
ly master lists with weekly re
visions. As a result, prospective
buyers are given the most up
to-date listing without having
to wait for the slower revision
developed in manual methods.
