Dr. Setzer Returns From African Trip By DEBORAH H. LENZ * WA 6-0692 Dr. Henry W. Setzer re turned from a trip to Africa and the Near East on Dec. 22. His trip Included a great deal of traveling, 3000 miles In Southern Africa and as many miles In Iran. Curator of Mammals at the Smithsonian Institution, Dr. Setzer made the trip for the Smithsonian, joining various field parties In the countries visited. His homecoming was delayed for a few days because of a sudden Illness and hospitaliza tion In Iran. He reports that the trip was most successful. The Germantown Gospel Lighthouse Church announces that the Harvest-time Broad cast of the United Pentecostal 1 Church will be heard over Rock ville’s radio station WINX AM FM on Jan. 5, 12:30 to 1 p.m. This program comes from the denomination’s headquarters in St. Louis. Allen Hungerford Is pastoi of the local church. Jerry Kingsbury, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Kingsbury, marked his fifth birthday Dec. 22. It will be a birthday long remembered, for Jerry was Invited to attend the Ranger Hal television show for taping Dec. 21 to be shown Sat., Dec. 28, at 9 a.m. The Clarksburg Girls 4-H Club met Dec. 16. Claire Kato ski demonstrated “How to Wrap Sandwiches”. The club’s pro ject for the current month Is to compile a list of good man ners at home. Dr. and Mrs. Martens and daughter Joan attended midnight mass on Christmas Eve at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Germaine Moone, a student nurse at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Is enjoying a two-week vacation at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Everett E. Moone. Barbara Law of Gaithersburg, also a student nurse at Frederick, was a week end guest at the Moone home. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Wolz of Blackwell, Okla., are spending several weeks at the home of their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Harry E. Baker. Cub Scout Pack 1095 met Dec. 18. After the opening flag cere mony, tribute was paid to the late President Kennedy. A Christmas party followed, with a gift exchange among the Cubs, and candy canes for young visit ors. Cubmaster Henry Stange led the boys in carol singing. These awards were presented: Hank Überto, wolf badge; Brad ley Jones, bear badge; Terry Douvllle, Hon badge; Edwin Wiley, lion badge; Hugh Lee, Webelos badge. On Dec. 20 the Cubs and their leaders, numbering about 17, went carol ing at the Marylander Rest Home, and presented each guest with a little gift. Another holi day project of the Pack was to supply food and gifts for a needy family In the area. Mrs. Margaret Lacy cele brated her 91st birthday on Dec. 19 at the Marylander Rest Home, where she Is a guest Sympathy Is extended to Mrs. Forrest P. Dr. Felix noted that improved staff and operational efficiency this year has enabled the clinic to treat 114 more persons than last year. Riding around the county one had an opportunity to see many unusual and beautiful Christmas decorations, perhaps the most unique was the cross of blue lights which appeared to be suspended in the sky over the B & M Welding Shop in Gaith ersburg. Mr. and Mrs. Forrest P. Neal, Sr., of Washington spent the Christmas holiday with the Junior Neal family. Mr. and Mrs. Jon D. West fall and small daughter of Wash ington spent Christmas Day at the Benton B. Westfall home. Mr. and Mrs. Richard Hull of Washington are receiving congratulations on the birth of a son, George Anthony, on Dec. 18 at Sibley Hospital. Mrs. Hull will be remembered as Miss Sigrid Westfall, daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Benton B. Westfall. Mrs. Westfall spent a few days with her daughter and new grandson after Christmas.
