At an early hour Thursday night a lady saw a colored man enter the privy in the rear of the residence of A. J. Crose, No. 37S Indi ana avenue. He carried a small bundle in his arms and his actions indicated that he was eanaewhat nervons and flurried. Before entering he took occasion to look about him in every direction, as if anxious to see whether or not he was be'mg watched, The lady determined to remain in a place of con cealment nntil the nero should ro-appcar, and she did not havo tn wait long, for scarcely three minutes elapsed before he stepped out of the privy, and, shutting the door behind him. walked rapidly away, bnt brought no bundle out with him. The lady intended to mention the circumstance to her family, but it slipped her memory and two dajs passed before it was recalled. Oa Saturday afternoon one of the numbers of Mr. Grose's family entered the out-house and was met with a horrible stench, similar to that which arises Irom a dead person in the last stages of decay. Sacred Concert Tho concert given by the City Band and orchestra at Masonic HaU last night was a line one musically, and netted for the mem bership quite a handsome sum. The organ ization is an old and popular one and it met with deserved recognition from our German citizens. The selections given by the band and orchestra consisted of 'Coronation march," Forge in the Forest," overtures ta "Martha" and ,4Marit3Da," airs from "Chimes of Normandy" and the potpouri, "a ioke." They were all given with decided skill and precision, for which these our best professionals aie noted. A clarionet so?o, "Ana Vane," was rendered as only Mr. Henry Shoemaker can render it. The per fect manner in which Mr. S handles his dif ficult instrument has gained for him quite a reputation throughout the country which he can be proud of. Mr. Terry Ingalls gave Levy's celebrated cornet solo, Murlmind polka" in excellent style and was awarded a hearty recall. A Lad' Hurt. Yesterday evening just after dark several little boys were playing on the corner ef, Mieaissippi and Washington streets, when suddenly a carriage drawn by two black horses, which had been standing near by, wheeled around, and the horses started at a tremendous pace down the street.
