PAGE TWO LIVING EXPENSES MOST ESSENTIAL OF ALL TOPICS “WHO STARTED GUARANTEED HOTEL AND APARTMENT RATES IDEA IN FLORIDA?” IS NEW SLOGAN (By Auactafi'd I’rexx) BRADENTON, Fla., June 23. “Who killed cock robin?” has been interpreted in Bradenton, Sara sota and West Palm Beach into the query, “Who started the guar anteed hotel and apartment rates idea in Florida?” This is the statement issued by the local chamber of commerce which is claiming that the city of Bradenton was the first to make public announcement of such a movement and calling to task the claims of the cities of Sarasota and West Palm Beach that each of these cities were first to start the movement and to adopt the plan of guaranteed hotel and apartment rates. “But aside from the question as to the originator of the guaranteed hotel and apartment rates,” says the bulletin, “the consensus among advertising men and railroad men of Florida seems to be that know in-advance hotel rates will prove a boon to the state next fall and winter. “Probably no other question is so absorbing to business interests in the state at the present time as the question of living expenses. Ainf lowered rents guaranteed to stay down during the next winter season are Tooked upon as a jderidid advertising medium. Bradenton, Sarasota and West Palm Beach, have already made public announcement that hotel and apartment .owners have agreed to co-operate in the idea.” As explained, Bradenton’s plan is unique. The chamber of com merce, according to signed agree ments filed by hotel and apart ment operators, becomes a party to the agreements as joint guaran tor and mediator. Each o{ the hotels and apartments endorsing the plan has already filed a state ment showing the number of rooms INFORMATION ON KEY WEST m i ’ ’ La Concha Hotel, European plan, single 53 to 54, (Jouble $5 to $7.
