CUBS DEFEAT REDS, SEVENTH STRAIGHT WIN BOSTON BRAVES LICK DODG ERS; NEW YORK YANKEES DOWN ATHLETICS AND TAKE LEAGUE LEAD (Special in The Flflxen) CHICAGO, April 26.—The Chi capo Cubs defeated the Cincin nati Reds 0 to 1. This was their seventh straight victory in the National League pennant race and they have yet to lose a game since the season opened. The Boston Braves triumphed over the Brooklyn Dodgers, tho score in this game reading 9 to 4. With a home run and a double, which accounted for five runs, Hal obtained from Philadel phia in a winter trade, personally escorted the Braves to victory. The New York Yankees downed the Philadelphia Athletics 3 to 2. Behind the smart pitching of Dan ny MacFalden. the New Yorkers took their second straight game ffom the Machmen. ’> The Cleveland Indiana won from the St. Louifc Browns behind Monty Pearsony superb pitching, making it the second straight win feom tho Sit.
