The plaque was prsiented to the company by Harold Colee, executive vice president of the chamber. •Mrs. Wallace B. Kirke ac- ( eepted the plaque in behalf of the Curry family. It is a bronze plaque, weighing 40 pounds, and on it is lettered: Honoring William Curry’s Sons In Recognition of More Than 100 years of Continuous Service. OPA issued two warnings to day: Don't throw away your gasoline rationing books. They will be needed in check ing up on your mileage when you apply for tires. Don't throw away your green coupons in Book 4. They will be used later on as meat coupons. COLEE ATTENDS LIONS MEETING i MET TWO FORMER CO-WORK ERS, JOHN COSTAR AND KINGMAN CURRY Harold Colee, executive vice president of the Florida State Chamber of Commerce, who in 1917 resided in Key West and 'was in charge of the Florida East Coast Terminal here, had the satisfaction of meeting with John Costar and Kingman Curry, two former co-workers of those days at the Lions’ Club dinner-meeting last evening. Mr. Colee spoke to the Lions about the assets of the great state |of Florida, and the part that j Floridians played in this war. He said that we should be proud of the fact that the State of Florida was the third greatest purchaser of War Bonds. * He named numerous Florida heroes who distinguished them selves in the war fronts, and gave an outline of the numerous in dustrial activities, in which Flor ida engaged in war production. ! He adds that Key Westers can be ! justly proud that out of three j businesses in Florida, which have |been operating for more than 100 ! years continuously, one is the iWilliam Curry Sons Cos., in Key j West. Mr. Colce expressed great sat isfaction at the progress shown in Key West since he last visited here in 1935, and assured.his hearers that the Island City nas a very promising future, provid ed that the civic leaders of Key West do not go to sleep on the job.
