Rose Voloshin Is Honor Guest At Cocktail Party A cocktail party beginning at four o'clock in the afternoon was given Sunday by Julisn V. Void* shin in honor of hit mother, Mrs. Rose Voloshin, at his home, 1109 South Street. Co-hosts for Voloshin were Mr. and Mrs. Ski Skewis and Everett Woods who aided in pre paring and serving martinis and hors d’oeuvres to the guests. Fancy cheese mixtures, dives stuffed with cream cheese, pickled onions and anchovies, various re* lishes, marinated herring in sour cream, crackers with specially pre pared snack mixtures, small sand wiches and other delicacies were served buffet style. The party was held in the gar den and house. Make the patties of uniform site by rolling out the meat on waxed paper and cutting with a large round cookie cutter. Guests admired the newly decorat ed home at 1500 Flagler and the paintings by Lee which are hung throughout the Well-appointed house. Co-hostess was Mrs. Ed ward FarraU, sister of Mrs. Al bert. Refreshments served were dainty sandwiches of chicken and ham, data and nut bread with cheese, a variety of crackers, fruit cake and punch. Fellow artists of Lea's and Mends of the couple enjoyed a tour of the studio tad conversation in general. The guest included Mr. and Mrs. Robert Muir, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bringman, Col. and Mrs. J. Raisin Sauce far Ham ar Tongue 1 cup sugar I*2 cup water 1 cun seedless raisins 2 tablespoons butter S tablespoons vinegar 1-2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce 1-2 teaspoon salt 1-8 teaspoon pepper 14 teaspoon cloves Few grains mace Cook sugar and water 8 min utes. Add other ingredients and cook until jelly dissolves. Raisin Sauce far Steamed Pudding 1 cup seeded raisins cut fine 1-2 cup sugar i l 1-2 cups water l 1-2 tablespoons lemon juice Simmer raisins in water until soft. Add sugar, cook slowly for 18 minutes. Add lemon juice. Navy Wives Club Pledge Members At Meeting The Island City Navy Wives Chib held their monthly member ship social Wednesday morning at 10:00 in the White Hat Club Lounge on the Naval Station. Erma Baugh, membership chair matt, acted a hostess and donated all refreshments. Joan Hinttki and Angtlyn Shep pard made their pledge into the Club and are now members of the Island City Navy Wives club No. 88. Two new candidates for mem bership were present, Janet Sells, wife of B. B. Eells SOC, stationed it the Fleet Sonar School on the naval station and Dorothy Dean, wife of D. S. Al **—**—uwtoftods* SATURDAY CVCNINC *OWT •* ~ a s^ \ ii'anM •CT tM SCALTMT Thursday, January 22, 1953 RAISIN PIE 34 cup sugar 2 tablespoon flour 1 teaspoon cinnamon 14 teaspoon salt 2 egg yolks 1 cup sour cream 2 tablespoons lemon juico Grated rind of 1 lemon 2 cups seedless raisin* 1-2 cup chopped nuta Pastry Mix sugar, flour, cinnamon, and salt. Beat egg yolks slightly. Stir in sour cream, lemon juice and grated rind. Add the sugar-flour mixture and stir well. Mix in raisnins and nuts. Pour into pastry lined pie pan. Lay 1-2 inch pastry strips over the top in. a lattice. Pinch edges of pastry strips to pie shell so they’ll hold. Bake for 15 minutes in an over 450 degrees, then reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 10 minutes longer.
