Spottswood Takes Artman Trophy BY JACK K. BURKE SPORT FEATURE WRITER . Colonel Bob Spottswood, an old timer in the golfing game, won the coveted Artman Trophy yes terday at the Key West Golf Club. Posting a gross score of 86, minus a 16 handicap, Bob’s low net of 70 was three strokes better than any of the other 43 players that were out for the silver cup. None of the leading amateurs or high handicappers could come near the winning score because high winds prevailed over the course all day. This is not the first cup that Bob has won during his long career in the sport of golf. Old timers around these parts tell of the time be took the third straight Meacham Trophy by defeating Joe Lopez Sr., 1-up. Joe was an ama teur then.
