to Italy.

here—the embassy, the big Mutual
Security Agency, the Military Ad
visory Group, eight consulates and
nine U. S. information centers.
She wUI be the commander in
chief of 600 Americans and 550

chase Villa Taverna and the em

ruckle” variety. Italy bought up
large quantities of war surplus
: material on the condition the U, S.
spend the funds in Italy and did
not ask for doi.ars. It was part
of this multimillion-dolUr fund
which was used to buy the diplo
matic bousing.
