Loyalty Dinner Is Slated At Ley Memorial Wed. The Annual Church Loyalty Din* ner for Lay Memorial Methodist Church, ISM Truman Avenue at Georgia Street, will be held on Wednesday night, May IS, at 7:30. This is the time when the Church lays its entire financial plans for the new Church year which begins June 1. The proposed budget will be presented, explained and dis* cussed, and adopted. And in addi tion pledges will be made toward underwriting the adopted budget. All members and friends of the Church, are cordially invited to at tend the Loyalty Dinner. Upon entering the sanctuary all mothers will be given a simple corsage with the compliments of the Church in re cognition of their hallowed role in the family life of the community. In addition there will be several bouquets presented to mothers who deserve special recognition. The 10:50 morning sermon top ic will be “A Mother’s Concern A Christian’s Desire.” The choir will sing appropriate music for the oc casion. Other services of the day will include Methodist Youth Fel lowship at 6:30 p. m., and even ing worship at 7:30, at which time the sermon subject will be "The Survival Of The Fittest.” The pas tor, the Rev. MSd Wtdr Piay Smtei Local Lutherans Aid Program For Servicemen With Funds Grace Lutheran Church, Flagler Avenue and Tenth Street, the lo cal Lutheran Church, affiliated with the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod, will join the denomination's 5000 congregations Sunday, May 19 Mother’s Day, to receive an offer ing for the Church’s Armed Servic es Commission. The Commission ministers to the spiritual welfare of the church’s 85,000 young men and women in the military. The armed services program ef Missouri Synod Lutheran has been hailed by church and mili tary Isadora as the "most com prehensive and effective" ser vice carried on by any church today among the military. A lead article in a widely-circulat ed national news magazine re cently lauded the Commission for its "outstanding |eb" to ser vice people. The Commission’s ministry is concentrated on individual mem bers in the armed services. Whan he first enters the service, each member receives from the church an initial packet containing • Lu theran Identification tag, Service Prayer Book, Scripture pocket calendar and several tracts.
