North End Social Flashes The contest between club presi dents, featuring Mrs. It. I). Rei.l and Mrs. M. L. Th» North End Social club won the prize. Both clubs made a beautiful fight. Plans were completed for the annual Christmas Party to be given at tho home of the president. After a lengthy business session the hostess served very colorful candieebric luncheon under yellow candle light. Tho cantata is entitllcd, “The Christmas M".sd uh," by Handel. Y BOYS PLACED ON C. W. A. JOBS Twelve young men who are res idents of the St. Antoine Y. M. ('. A. were placed In employment ibis week through the Presidents’ new C. W. A. plan. Each man will work thirty hours a week with a minim um wage o. 15.00. These Jobs re sulted directly from the Y. M. C. A’s efforts, started several inonihs ago, to assist young men who were away from home in adjusting them selves during these difficult days. Karly in March, 19113, tin* ‘Y’ offered its residence halls facilities to the young men in need who were aggressive and whose self-respect urged them to desire a home with Christian surroundings. Approx imately fifty young men have been helped, some of whom have found jobs, a few returned to their homes In tie* placing of these young men tin* *Y* lias had the full coopera tion of William Fury, the new direc tor of the Hoy’s Bureau lie-1 partment.
