Analysis of the Massachusetts Siutc Assayer, January 25, 1858. . When evaporated through clean linen it left no oil or offensive matter. In every respect it is a pure spiritous liquor. The oil which gives to this Brandy its flavor and aroma, is wholly unlike fusil, or gruin oil. Its odor partakes ol both the fruit and oil of grapes. The substa tion of this Brandy for Cognac Brandy will dc ir away with the manufacture of fictitious spirits, 0 sold under this name both at home and abroad. Itespt’ly, A. A. IIA YS, M. L YONS’ l-'-U RE CATAW- Y BA BRANDY,” with reference to its composi tion and character, being the same as that pro duced in past years. A sample taken from ten 1 casks afforded the same results with regard to s purity ; a slightly increased amount of the principle on which its flavor depends was de termined by comparison with former samples. The indications, of analysis show that this Brandy produced by the same process as most of ttie imported Brandy. 1 Rcspt’ly, A. A. HAYS, M. D., * State Assayer, 10 Boyleston st.
