INDEPENDENT CANDIDATE
FOR
JUDGE OF THE CIRCUIT COURT For. BAL
TIMORE COUNTY,
a TS-ICH-A-iaZD G-tß—^-SOIT.
a HE announcement that Mr. Crason will
candidate at the ensuing election,
reived with gratification by his nu
merous friends.
He was elecced Judge in 1864, was duly com- .
iniSsi'6Hed by Gov. Bradford, qualified and dis
charged the duties of the office until sometime
in Mstrch, 1565, when the Legislature declared
him ineligible and disqualified from holding
the office, upon the grounds of disloyalty.
If js’held by those who supported him and
generally conceded by his political opponents,
thkt the action of the Legislature was hasty,
unjust and impolitic.
The country at the time was unhappily en
gaged in civiii war, and whenever the action of
the Legislature and the most active of his op
ponent were canvassed, their course was ex
cused upon the grounds that the act wan a war
measure and a matter of necessity, owing to
surr<*fi|ptng circumstances.
TEe war is now over and the authority of the
Gawfllmeat is established and recognized in
States, and all good citizens are putting
forth every effort to restore harmony and good
leeling in their respective communities and
through the whole country.
. Mr. Crason presented himself to the Boardof
Registers of the 9th Election District, which
was composed of Edwin L. Parker, Esq., Gen.
S. C. Leakin and Dr. J. It. Ward. Objections
were made hi his right to Register; many of
the witnesses who testified against him at An
napetfe* were summoned and examined, and
after a, thorough and careful investigation of.
the case they declared him to be a loyal man
by {postering him as a qualified voter of the
Sumk Yhe gentlemen composing the Board of
Registers are well known as Union and Admin
istration men of the strictest school: they iiave
lived many years in the same distinct with Mr.
Graiad have had the fullest and most ample
opportunity of ascertaining if there was any
just grounds for the charge of disloyalty.
Mr. Grason, in permitting his name to be
used at the ensuing election, will enable his
friends who are Registered, and who supported
hii§trisfor* to reindorse him—and, at the same
time, wifi afford an opportunity to those who
were opposed to him at the last election and
aided, in a moment of undue aud groundless
excitement, to remove him from a position to
which he had been fairly and honorably elect
ed by a majority of the voters of Baltimore
county, to reconsider their former action andjo
do him the justice which is so eminently due,
by reinstating him in the position from which
he was removed.
The lion. D. C. H. Emory, who is Mr. Gra
sonV'opponent for Judge, is a gentleman of
high tone, legal ability and unexceptionable
private character ; but the circumstances under
which lie bolds the Judgeship in place of Mr.
Grason at the present time, ore well known to
the people anil are to be deeply regreted. Mr.
Grason"* friends do not propose to charge Mr.
„ Emory with any complicity in the matter ol
his removal, but they do contend, upon the
grounds of even-handed justice, that neither
Mf. Emory or his friends, should expect him
(Mr. E.) to hold an office to which Mr. Grason
has already been duly and fairly elected, and
from which he has been improperly removed ;
and that Mr. Emory will have no just cause of
complaint against the people Baltimore county
either as good citizens or party-men, if they
should lake a high toned and liberal view of
thft subject and reinstate Mr. Grason as Judge
of the Circuit Court for Baltimore County.

SOLUBLE
PACIFIC GUANO.
JOHN S. REESE & CO.,
Wholesale and Retail Agents
FOR THE
PACIFIC GUANO COMPANY,
71 SOUTH ST., BALTIMORE.
rpilE SOLUBLE PACIFIC GUANO, resein-
X hies Peruvian Guano in appearance, odor,
and composition. The value of all Guanos and
Super Phosphates of lime, of whatever name,
depends, as is well known, upon the per cent,
of Ammonia, Soluble Phosphate, and Bone Phos
phate of Lime they contain. This Guano dif
fers from Peruvian only in the fact that it con
tains less Ammonia, but this difference in Am
monia is more than made up by the fact that
it contains almost double as much Soluble, and
Bone Phosphate of Lime. This difference
makes it a durable fertilizer, with all the activ
ity of Peruvian Guano. Although the price of
this Guano is only one-half the price, of Peru
vian, and is not higher than the Super Phos
phates of Lime, yet it contains, as is proven by
analysis aud inspection, vastly more of ammo
nia, soluble and Bone Phosphate, than is found
in the best of them. Hence its economy and
intrinsic value must render itanohjectof great
interest to farmers generally.
WE WBSiFa IFAMEKi
TAKE ESPECIAL NOTICE,
That the conditions upon which we have the
agency of this Guano are that every cargo is
regularly inspected and analysed by Da. Lm
big, whose authority in such matters is para
mount.
This arrangement affords us and consumers
a protection not had in the purchase of fertiliz
ers generally. It must also be noticed that the
phosphates of this Guano, are not mineral, but
earthy Phosphates, which is greatly to its ad
vantage.
The following is a summary of analysis of
last Cargo:
Moisture... 10 per ct.
Organic Combustible Matter... 39.71 “
Earthy Matter ..50.28 “
Yielding Ammonia 3.40 pr. ct.
Soluble Phosphate of Lime... 17.07 “
Bone Phosphate of Lime 24.32 “

rTHfE value of unburnt, unadulterated Bone
r x is well known. When reduced to the con
dition'of Flour, it is as active as if dissolved
With acid, and is far better, becanse it retains
all it* "Phosphates. Its superiority over the
common Bonk Dust is two-fold or more. It is
a consummation sought for in vain for the last
half century, and is destined to give new val
ue to Bonk ns a fertilizer, and work a revolution
in its use. The BONE FLOUR is made only
by the above Company, and is branded with
their trade mark, which is the guarantee of its
genuineness.
