WALTON, AUCTIONEER—OFFICE No. 162 Common street—TUESDAY, July 11. 1871, at the St. Charles Auction Exchange, base ment rotunda of the St. Charles Hotel,At twelve o'clock, by virtue and in pursuance of a judgment of the honorable the Second District Court for the parish of Orleans, in the matter of the ab->ve named succession, court docket No. 34,895. I will proceed to sell, by public auction, the following described valuable property, to wit— In the Fifth District. 1. A CERTAIN PORTION OF GROUND, situated in the Fifth District of the city of New Orleans, on the right hauk of the Mississippi river, at about one mile and a half below the ferry lauding, and mea suring 2 arpeuts front, by about 40 arpeuts tu depth, all according to a plan drawn by B. Buisson, surveyor, dated fifteenth of March, 1834; together with the buildings and improvements thereon, which consist of A VERY SUPERIOR. ELEGANT AND COMMODIOUS MANSION, containing a brick basemeut, nine feet high, iu w hieh there are wide passages at right angles, a hue diningroom, a school room, two storerooms and a cellar; the whole of tlie basement door is finely paved with bricks. On the first story there is a hue hall, a large parlor, with sliding doors and marble mantels, cornices and centre pieces, four large cliatubers, very wide trout and rear galleries, euclosed with Venetian blinds. In the attic are two lar^e rooms and four closets, all nicely plastered and finished. The en tire premises have been late!$' painted, and the rooms papered, and are now in sidendid condition, nearly as good as new. Attached to the house are two large cisterns. The outbuildings consist of—1. A one-story frame building, covered with slates, couveuient to the dwellingliouse, containing kitchen, ironing room, four servants' rooms, and a large shed iu front, the floor of which is paved w ith bncks. This building has been lately painted and repaired, and is in tine order. 2. Another frame biiildiug, containing sev eral xonms. 3. A staide, carriage-house, feed room, etc. There are besides many other buildings, two more cisterns, a fine well, and au expensive and Complete hothouse. The grounds are iu flue condition, ami in a high state of cu.tivatiou, the ornamental garden in front containing quantities of rare plants, flowers and shrubbery: aud upon the place, couveuient to the dwelling, is a quantity of sweet orange, peach, tig, plum, mespeiuee, magnolia, jessamine, aud other tine fruit and ornamental trees. AH the walks are paved iu cement, aud are in perfect order. There is also a large vegetable market garden, aud all the conveniences for raising fowls and stock. The laud is well ditched and perfect!? drained from the river to the woods, a distance of about twenty-five arpeuts, aud the ewamp is thick with tiue cypress trees. In the Second District. 2 A CERTAIN LOT OF GROUND in the Second District, at the eastern corner of Chartres aud Jefferson streets,in thejsqitare bounded by Chartres, Jefferson, Levee and St. Peter streets, designated bv the No. 1. ou a plan deposited in the office of EG. Gottschalk, notary public, as plan No. 11. ac cording to which plau said lot measures 59 feet 4 lines front on Chartres afreet 59 feet 5 inches and 5 lines in the rear, by 78 feet 5 inches in depth and ltout on Jefferson street, between parallel lines,to gether with the improvements thereon, which con sist of a two-story brick slate roof buildiug. divided * into five stores on the first floor, containing seven rooms iu the second store; kitchen and pnvy in the yard, which is paved with bricks, water works, etc. 3.
