ALUMINUM TRUST * AGREES TO OBEY LAW WASHINGTON, June 7.—By a de cree entered In the Federal court at Pittsburgh today, the Aluminus trust formally made peace with the govern ment. The trust, which was alleged to have control of 90 per cent of the output of aluminum by means of a system of restrictive contracts, and which was sued under the Sherman law several weeks ago, agrees to the nullification of these agreements The' contracts of the Aluiniuum Company of America, the “trust" with foreifcti companies, whereby the Euro pean and American markets are divid ed upon a percent ago basis, are per petually enjoined In the deerde today. Other agreements annulled affect the activities of the Norton company, the General Chemical Cos. and the Penn sylvania Salt Manufacturing Cos., which Are cut loose from the parent concern and thrown into competition with It. The Aluminum Company of Ameri ca is forbidden from obtaining 'ontrol vs competitors by combination through stock ownership, from hampering rivals by decaying shipments of raw materials, by price manipulation, or by withholding material used in manu facturing aluminus products. It is provided, however, that the de cree shall not compel the defendant company to supply crude aluminum to those who are uot its regular custom er to the disadvantage of those who are, and shall not Interfere wi*h any lawful monopoly growing out of pat ent rights.
