TENNESSEE’S , PROFITS GAIN The Tennessee Copper Cos. reports net profits for the year ended De cember 31, 1915, of $1,058,031, an in* erase of 9407.391 over 1914. Earn ings were equal to $5.29 a share, compared with 93.25 the preceding year. The average selling price of the company’s copper last year was 10 1-2 cents s pound. The produc tlon was 12,750.418 pounds, a trifle less than the 1914 output. The an nual report gives few details abou’. the sulphuric-arid department, and it appears that this end of the busi ness will run into this year before the maximum of profits are reached. Production of the acid last year w’as 210.(66 tons, only a slight Increase over the previous year. The com pany is building anew acid plant and Is also making extensive repairs tc. the present plant. Tennessee Copper is a large producer of both copper and sulphuric acid and should work out large profits this year If the proper facilities for pro ducing, storing and marketing are brought out by the management.
