Wednesday night, in favor of the. elimination of the sale of liquor by drug stores. By a practically unanimous voi* i the Detroit Retail Druggists' asso ciation adopted a resolution looking i to legislative action along this line and the establishment of municipal dispensaries for the retailing of liquor for medicinal and sacramental purposes only. It was the annual meeting of the association and was held in the Fel low craft. club. The liquor resolution was the most important business transacted. Os the 70 members present all but four voted for the resolution, which follows: Resolved. That this association petition the state legislature to re strict the sale of liquor for medic inal and sacramentnl purposes to municipal dispensaries, eliminating the gale of liquor by druggUu «m --tlrely. This action is the outgrowth of agitation that has been going on among the retail druggists for some time against the liquor traffic. Many druggists who have adhered strictly to the provisions of the existing law respecting (he dispensing or intoxicants have been subjected to much unjust criticism because some retailers have been less scrupulous. In other words, the latter have brought the trade as a whole Into disrepute, and the reputaole drug gists welcome this opportunity to divorce themselves from the dis tasteful traffic. The Detroit association elected W. C. M. Scott, of Detroit Drug com pany, president for the ensuing vear. Ralph f». Mitter. newly elect ed alderman from the Fourteenth ward, was made vice-president. Oscar W. Oorenflo was re-#le«*ied treasurer and J. fl. Hackney was elected secretary for the fourth term.
