Fridav afternoon none of the lor-a! exemption boards had received *h*- official lists of numbers drawn They could not proceed on the* lists pub lished in the newspapers, and there was nothing for them to do hut mark time until th* government get the lists in their Minds The tin official list* with nano -and nddres e* made up by the city clerk and hi# staff have* bon distributed, but the boards cannot work on these until they have checked them ov»*r with the official figures A telegram from 1 insing Friday afternoon sta'*-d tfiat th* official lists had been received from ington and that they would be mail ed to the district boards as oon a possible This makes it almost r» r tain that th**r*» will he* no notice sent out before Monday iftortiing r*s It Is not llkeh the board* will re reive lists in Mmo to aecomplisb am thfrig along this line on Saturday Another cause for confusion is the fact that th** government ha« mixed up the numbers of the "Detroit dis trlefs The original numbers stir rished Mayor Mart were supplied to C’ltv t’lerk I.indsav for the guidance of his hoard of statisticians In wards that were dirlded Into two districts the southern half of the ward was numbered lower than the northern half with the exception of the Sixteenth and Seventeenth wards There the order was reversed the upper end being numbered ahead of the lower end Now the govern ment ir following the plan <>f num bering 'be lower ends Prst. mixing up the Nineteenth Twentieth.
