On the evening of the 24th, the steamer Philadelphia from As pinwall, with California passengers of March 20, from the Nicaragua steamer which went into Panama, was at Havana. Dates from California are no later. A terrible affray occurred at Panama on the 18th, between the Transit Company’s passengers and natives, in which the former had thirty killed and twenty wounded. The Empire City brings three of the wounded men. A large amount of passengers’ bag gage, Railroad property, and property of individuals residing near Railroad stations, was destroyed. All baggage at the freight houses was rifled. Among the killed were Michael Yettem, of Orleans county, Ver mont, R. W. Marks, of Walker’s army. Of fourteen dead at the freight house, one man only, that of Mr. Stokes, was known— Among the wounded are W. H. Hunter, Theodore Desaboy, Secretary to the Ameri can Consul at Panama, and Mr. Palmer, of tiie Railroad Company, all residents at Pan ama. Also George 0. Field, New York, James Parker, Bangor, Mr. Stevering of Providence, A. Swan, of Maine, Pat. O’Ncile, of San Francisco, Mr. Treadle, of Hancock county, Ohio, Rev. J. S. Elwood, late of Graham ■> lie, South Carolina. All of the above were pr« nnptly attended to by the Steamer and 1 -thmus Physician. The passengers upon whom this outrage was committed left San Francisco, March 20, on the steamer Cortes for San Francisco, but landed at Panama, hearing of Walker’s troubles. The Hptchinsons. —The brothers Hutch inson are now all here with their families, prcparatoiy to taking up their residence at their new home in Meeker County. Judson and John arrived by the Golden Era. Asa preceded them some days ago. 1 umigration Not less than six hundred regular settlers of our new lands arrived by the Granite State and City Belle on Friday evening and Saturday morning. A large por tion of those on the Granite State were M elsh ; and those of all countries on both boats were bound for the Minnesota Valley. The number on the City Belle was 350 grown persons and ninety children who were old e nough to set at table, besides babies in arms of a number that we would not undertake to count. The cabin of the Belle when she landed, presented one of the most interest ing sights we ever witnessed. This colony —the men all hardy farmers and mechanics —is from New York City and the adjacent parts of Connecticut and New Jersey. Most of them embarked for their new homes on board the Reveille on Saturday evening. I Oar City Finance*.
