Shaw of Greenbush is threshing in North Blue Hill this week. Hartman Camp purchased a fine 2- year-old colt from Kaliher last week. Ghas. Kaliher and family of Elk River spent Sunday as guests of Mrs. Schurrer. Chas. Thompson returned last Fri day from his trip to Montana and other western states. Gus Kuhlman delivered a load of dry poplar wood at the Wheeler school house on Monday. Billy Thompson has returned from Brooklyn Center, where he spent the summer on a truck farm. Lofgren Bros, have been baling their hay they cut on the Dugan meadow and hauling it to Princeton. A man named Mullan ot Iowa has purchased the old McQuoid farm and will take possession in the spring. Mrs. W. H. Thompson returned on Saturday from Wayzata, where she has been visiting her son, Ed, and family and some old friends. She had a very enjoyable visit. N. A. Lind has arrived from Rolfe, Iowa, with some fine Shorthorn cat tle. He brought a carpenter wit^ him and will at once commence to build a house. Mrs. Lela Knowlton and daughter, Irene, of Orrock visited with Mrs. C. E. Brande on Sunday afternoon and went to Princeton for a short visit with Mrs. Wm. Marsh. ESTES BROOK. Nels Ege is carpentering at Wm. Frescholtz'. Mr. and Mrs. H. L. Bemis and family Sundayed at Wm. Deuel's. Ernie Axt and Phoebe Crook made a short call at H. L. Bemis' on Sun day. Mr. and Mrs. Oscai Erickson and family and Mrs. Sarah Erickson spent Sunday afternoon at Luther Jones'. Mrs. J. L. Bergman entertained on Monday afternoon Mesdames Ayers, Sandquisl, Hedman, Kelson, Pierson and Miss Selma Sandquist. Misses Lulu McEvitt and Clara Sandquist and Messis. Joe Shipanski, Earl Axt and Leslie Crook were en teitained at supper at the John Lar son home in Milo on Sunday. Miss Augusta Larson returned with them to take up her school work here. Last Tuesday evening a crowd gatheied at the Dalchow home. Dancing was the chief amusement and refieshments were served Mr. and Mrs Dalchow left the following day tor Bogus Brook, where they will leside permanently. They have our best wishes. Norberg and son, Reuben, and Mrs. Andrew Rust and son. About thirty people gathered at the home of Louis Rust last Sunday evening to help celebrate their nine teenth wedding anniversary. Re freshments were served and a very pleasant evening was passed. DALBO. Miss Nida Quickstrom is staying at the Val Mott home. A. Westberg and son, Arthur, were in Princeton on Friday. The Dalbo starch factory has opened up for business. Misses Edna and Esther Ericson were callers at Bjork's on Sunday. Oscar Soderquist and John Eng strom were in Princeton on Saturday. Many Dalbo people attended the dance at the M. W. A. hall, Maple Ridge, on Saturday and had a fine time. Visitors at J. Ericson's on Sunday were Mr. and Mrs. A. Seth Johnson returned from St. Paul on Saturday after spending a week with his sister and brother-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Olson. SPENCER BROOK. There will be a Hallowe'en party at the M. W. A. hall on Thursday evening, October 31, given by the school of district 1. A few friends and neighbors of Mrs. S. D. McKenney spent Sunday afternoon at her home, it being her birthday anniversary. While on her way home from her school in Bradford Ina McKenney had the misfortune of meeting with quite a serious accident. I was after dark and while driving she met an automobile which had no lights. She did not see it till it ran into her buggytipping it over and in juring Miss Ina quite badly. She was lucky to get out of it as well as she did. Miss Francis Blomgren was pleas antly surprised on Saturday evening, when she arrived home to see a crowd of her friends who had gath ered there in honor of her birthday anniversary. The evening was spent in playing games. She is certainly a fine entertainer, and did all she could to make the evening enjoyable for everybody. Delicious refreshments were served and the gathering presented her with a nice lamp. GERMANY. Ernest Frank visited with Olive Schmidt on Sunday. Mrs. H. Mr. Van Gandrew bought a shed belonging to Mr. Martin and is busy tearing down and moving the build ing to his own place. Mrs. Mellott attended the farewell party given in honor of the McCrack ens in Baldwin on Friday night. I was a grand success from start to finish and all enjoyed themselves to the limit. Mr. and Mrs. McCracken were presented with some pretty silverware, and the best wishes of all their friends go with them to their new home in Harlem, Mont. ZIMMERMAN. The Livonia town board met on Tuesday. Mrs. Ed Healy of Elk River spent Sunday with relatives here. E. H. Foley hauled a big touring car to Minneapolis on Sunday. Miss Ina Bean and Mrs John Kruger drove to Princeton on Satur day. E. H. Foley took two auto loads out to the dance at Blue Hill on Sat urday night. The Episcopal ladies here will serve dinner and supper in the Un ion church on election day. There's where you will find lots of good things to eat. Miss Burns entertained Miss Magna Houske, the school teacher in the Perman district, on Saturday after noon. George Foley went to Anoka on Saturday morning to visit his daugh ters and returned on the evening train. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Wheeler of Princeton spent Sunday with Mrs. Wheeler's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Muffley. Mr. and Mrs. Emil Schwartz have moved their household goods into the creamery house, where they will live this winter. H. C. Hastings, candidate for judge of probate, Harry Nickerson and Will Iliff of Elk River were in town on Tuesday. Iliff of Elk River spent from Friday afternoon until Saturday afternoon visiting relatives and friends here. Mrs. Hartfelder of Elk River, can didate for superintendent of schools of Sherburne county, was in town Wednesday looking after her interests here. She has had twelve years ex perience teaching and the voters of Sherburne county will make no mis take in casting their vote for such a qualified woman. VINELAND. E. E. Dinwiddie went to Onamia on Monday after a load of steel cul verts. Chas. Keith of Princeton and Mr. and Mrs. Allen of Milaca were Vine land visitors last Sunday. Threshing in this vicinity is in full blast and it will likely be finished this week. Crops are turning out excellently The stork made a flying trip to the home of Mr. and Mrs. McMullin on October 25, leaving them a son weighing 14 pounds. Rev. J. J. Wittrup preached at the M. E. church last Sunday. He was accompanied by his wife. They visited at H. O Oliver's Sunday evening, returning to theii home at Aitkin on Monday morning. OXBOW.
