appearing to the satisfaction of the court,
that John A. McKendree, is not an inhabitant of
this State, but resides beyond the limits thereof,
so that the ordinary process of this court cannot
be served on him. It is ordered bv the court that
unless the said defendant appear before the Vice
Chancellor at the court room in the town of Hol
ly Springs, on the first Monday of January nexrt
and plead answer or demur, to complainants bill,
the several allegations thereof will be taken for
confessed and such order and decree made therein
as the Vice Chancellor may deem equitable and
just; and it is further ordered by the court, that a
copy of this order be inserted in "The Guard" a

CHANCERY SALE.
PURSUANT to an interlocutory decree of the
District Chancery court of the State of Mis
sissippi at Holly Springs, made at the July term
1812, in the suit of Henry Anderson and Edward
Orne, against John Green, Cornelius C, McMa
han, William A. Wright and James H McElwee,
I will on the first Monday of September next, at
the court house door in the town of Holly Springs,
sell to the highest bidder on a credit of six months,
the purchaser giving bond with good and suffi
cient security, the North half and the North East
and North West eights of the South half of Sec
tion two, (2) Township six (6) Range three 3
West of the basis mcredian of the Chickasaw
Cession, in Marshall county, and if the proceeds
of such sale be insufficient to pay the sura of
$1,476 99, with interest from the 28 of March
1S3S, then 1 will at the time and place aforesaid,
sell the remaining portion of said section of land
unless the said defendant McElwee, shall then
and there pay off and discharge the deficiency.
