Elections, article 8th : .
Section 1. The Legislature, at the regular
session thereof, in the year one thousand eight
hundred and forty-six, shall pass a law fixing
the time of holding elections of Governor, Sec
retary of State, Auditor of Public Accounts,
State Treasurer, Members of the Legislature,
and Representatives in Congress; which law
shall provide that said elections shall not be held
at the time when other public officers are elected.
