The Burlington House has lately undergone thorough repairs and cleansing, many new and commodious alterations have been made, to- ft other with an addition of several new rooms, has also been newly furnished in part. In short no pains or pxpense has been spared either by the owner or subscriber to fit it up in ele gant stile, and to make it one of the moat de sirable Hotels in the western country. Cameron & Pierce, the subscriber has assigned to it the above name and has opened it as a house of public entertainment. The house is large and has been finished with aB especial view to the comfort and conven ience of such as may please to confcr upon it their patronage. It contains a very large num ber of single rooms, all furnished with new ami suitable furnilurc and has also a sufficiency of large rooms, und parlors for the accommodation of families. It is situated in a pleasant and bu siness part of the town. The subscriber trusts, from an experience cf several years in the man agement of a hotel in Ohio, not only to render the NATION AI HOTEL worthy of the town in which it is situated, but to establish for it a character which will not suffer in comparison with that of any other in the western country. Duo attention will be paid to the appetites of his boarders and every thing desirable which the market can furnish will be found upon his table. Owing to tho*numerous applications for the admission of pupils, circumstances render it necessary in jus tice to himself and to those who patronize him, to establish a select school—and for the sake of convenience the course of studies hereafter will be considered as consisting of three sections. Sect. 1st, Orthography, Reading and Pen manship. Sec.'2d. Intellectual and Practical Arithme tic, Elements of Geography and English Gram mar. Sec. 3d. Ancient and Modern History, Na tural and Moral Philosophy, Algebra, Geome try, Mensuration, Atlas of the States, Rheto ric, Original Compositions, folding and en dorsing Letters, Critiques. It is not of course intended that every pupil, however short his or her time at school, shall go through the whole of the above course. Instruction will be given in all the ordinary Gliglish branches, and in the Sciences and An cient Languages, Botany, Mineralogy, and Vocal Music will be taught on such a plan as furnish a highly agreeable and useful recrc ition to the pupils, without engrossing time -^Ikjhieh should be devoted to more severe study.
