GOLDEN WEDDING ANNIVERSARY OF ALBERT ALLENS' SR. OBSERVED AT PRETTY RECEPTION HELD AUGUST 21 Mr. and Mrs. Albert Allen. Sr., 3821 Third Av. S., were a proud and handsome couple Wednesday evening. August 21, when special recognition was given their Golden Wedding an niversary by their eight children, who held an open house in honor of the occasion at the Nacrieman Club, 3949 Fourth Av. S., Minneapolis. Hosts and hostesses were their four daughters, the Mmes. Kath erine Anderson. Sedalia Clark. Margaret Adlin and Carmen Da vis and tour sons. Leroy. Theo dore, Reginald and Albert Jr. Mrs. Allen, the former Margaret King, a native of Missouri, was married to Mr. Allen, also a na tive of Missouri, on August 21. 1907, in Hannibal. Mo. They mov ed ta Minneapolis in 1917. where they made their home since. From 8 to 10 p. m. some 200 guests congratulated the cele brants and wished them many more years of wedded bliss. A color scheme of blue, gold and white was featured throughout. Decorative floral effects and ferns formed a perfect back ground where the couple received their friends and relatives. The white satin covered serving table with its centerpiece of gladioli in shades of gold and yellow between gold candlesticks with lighted white tapers struck an artistic note. A three tiered 50th anniver sary cake added a touch of senti ment to the setting. Mrs Allen was a regal picture in a blue lace two piece gown, ac cessorized with blue slippers, rhinestone jewelry and a corsage of pink sweetheart roses tied with gold ribbon. Gifts displayed on a t able were numerous and lovely. Among them was a twin set of gold matched wedding bands, gift from their children. A host of other friends and relatives whe were unable to attend sent lovely and useful gifts. Others assisting in addition to the hosts and hostesses were the daughters-in-law and grand children. Miss Connie McCoy, cousin of honorees, attended the gifts. Mr. and Mrs. Allen have 16 grandchildren. Shift Haitian Officials At United Nations New York (ANP) Emile Saint Lot is the new Ambassador to the United Nations from Haiti He succeeds Jacques Leger who also had formerly been Haitian Ambassador in Washington. Leger said he would not return to Haiti for the present and until complete order had been restored in the country. Salnava Zamor, former head of the House of Deputies in Haiti has succeeded veteran Ernest Chau vet as Minister to the UN. Chau vet, who has been at the U.N. for a number of years is the owner of LaNouvelliste. one of the im portant papers published in Port au-Prince.
