The time does not seem propitious for the State to make an exhibit hete; the cause I am not able to dirine. If our State had a good exhibit here it would irive me much pleasure to repr -sent her here during the whole of the Exposition, and to gire all Missis- ippiaus, as well as otners, a warm wel come, but as it has been, it has not given me much pleasure, in fact, it has been a hard place to hold. Notwith standing we hare met many intelligent, pleasant people, from Mississippi, tnanr of whom my wife and myself hare made to feel much at home, the short time they were with us.
