BOVERNOR Hutch, infon is expeded home by the teturn of the New-York Packet, which failed from Falmouth last Wed nesday. It was yesterday re ported that Lord Hillfbarough will again fill an important office in Adm niftration greatly to Ihe advantage of ihe Bostonians. By a letter from Halifax in Nova-Scotia, we are told, that a clergyman's wife died there in the mtdft of last November, and was not buried till the beginning of May following, the ground being so hardened with the froft, that no pick-ax or crow could enter it ; and what is wonderful, though the body was kept thus long, it had not a feetid smell till two days before it was interred. 1 he Americans because too virtuous to give up their rights, or fufter their liberties to be wrested out of their hands, have been misrepresented to the King, a* a factious and disloyal people ; but th«ir conduit fmee the difeovery of the despicable arte of villainous treachery, of Hucchinfon and his aflbciatos, should recommend them to his Majesty as the reverse of what he bath been taught to believe them : For certainly nothing but a principle of loyal and fwcere attachment to the King’s peifun and government, could have restrained them from inftamly hanging up those fhameful traitors, who fur fclfifh purpnfes have basely traduced, and fccretly as infimoufly endeavoured to prejudice their sovereign against them. It is said, that a certain Courtier told Mr. Wilkes the other day, that the minis try wished him success at the next election for mayor, as it would ruin his popularity. Tell your friends, replie, Mr. Wilkes, I would have them clench the business by ic ftoring me to my feat in parliament ; and whatever may be theconfcquence tome, it will be the only chance they can ever have of becoming popular thcmfclves. As a supplement tn the coinage all, a wag advifrs, that a bill should •• pass, mak ing it lawful to weigh every miniftePs head before he is invested with the office of premier.’’ Was such a law now in force, our correspondent thinks that to determine the fpecific gravity of Lord North's head, leaden weights and should be used, as truly emblem the lamp contained therein. It 1* said that upwaids of 30,000 fuldiers have been inlifted in this kingdom for the Hon.Eaft-India company’s favice, fmee the commencement of th? last war; which it an extraordinary dram of laborious hands, and a real loss to the nation, when it is con sidered that one ever returns home. The Governors of Jamaica, Gibraltar and Minorca, have iccetved orders to re pair to their refpcd'.ve government, with in a month from this date. What te Is very much in favour cd Mr. Hutchinson is, that he has never defned to be recalled; he is tonfeinu his conduct will bear the flriHeil examination. Yesterday arrived hcrehtsMajefty’s schoo ner Hope. Capt Dawfun, Tom Halifax. Sal’fbury, Auguji 16.
