He ie an adept at the profession, and though differing with him politically, cannot refrain from wishing that he might bo our next State Superintend ent. His idea of the duties of the profession of teaching, his pungent oriticism of authors, and his thorough •contempt for the text-books intro duced into the state through ignor ance or corruption suits us to a dot.
