to th*11)i«trict Court and tried the present
term before Judge Lowe, who affirmed the
judgment of the Mayor's Court.
We understand the case is to be appealed
to the Supreme Court, and that Judge Lowe
will wriu* out hin opinion, on the point* in

h.-fore our readers in due time.
APPEAI.kd.—We learn that t/ie five dollar

It i« all about a stove which CurU furnished
for the School-house in district No. 2. Not
petting his pay, he sued out a writ of reple

that Curts ghgpMt/flurn the stove to the
school-house^ ive his five dollars.—
Such was the teginning of the suit, and at
4hat time its settlement would have cost the
d. fendmU $2,50 each, besides savin? them

We call attention to the proceedings of the
WP*tTTi Mis«ourians to warn off the Metho

Klliatt, of the Westetn Christian Advocate,
g^TThefollowing indictments, among otib»

State of Uwa vs. Peter Hart and Frank
lavin, selling intoxicating liquors.
State of lo^a vs. same, keeping intoxicat

State of Iowa vs. tame, nwfluee.
Parties arrefitwl and entered into recogni
tnnce for their appearance at the next term.
We noticed the other day that the Holliday
House had been found guiity on an indictment
under the old law, as a nuisance. The three
indictments above noted against the same con
cern ought to make a finish of the matter.
