Mr. Newman will repre sent the union in grievances be tween employees and the Soo line Railroad. Mrs. J. R. Jones Dies; Found DI By Police Familiar Figure Dies Mrs. J. R. Jones of 582% Rondo Street, died Thursday at 3:00 a. m. at Ancker hospital. She was found unconscious Wednesday. Mrs. Jones, who is usually seen by her friends in the community every day, had not been seen for a week. A friend, Mrs. Black, of 749 Rondo Street, called at Mrs. Jones home but was unable to get a response. Knowing that Mrs. Jones lived alone, it was imme diately thought that she was ill. Police were immediately summoned and on flashing a light through the window found Mrs. Jones lying on the floor in a coma. CHAIRMAN regain consciousness. Mrs. Jones had been a resident of St Paul for twenty years. None of her relatives are known, but it is understood that she has a cousin who lives in Minneapolis. Mrs. Jones was originally from Dallas, Texas. For the past several years she has been an agent for several colored papers and the High Brown Cosmetic Company. As we go to press, funeral arrangements have not yet been made. Last Rites For 73 Year Old St. Paulite Held Funeral services were held Mon day at 2:30 p. m., for Mrs. H. M. Me Makin, who died at her home, 711 St. Anthony, Friday, May 31, at 5:25 p. m. Mrs. McMakin had been confined to her bed for three months, suffering from heart trouble and arthritis. Born in Union City, Tenn., seventy-three years ago, Mrs. McMakin resided there until fourteen years ago, when she became a resident of St. Paul. She was a valuable and much loved member of the com munity. She was a member of the Seven Day Adventist Church, Ash land Avenue and McKubin Street. Surviving Mrs. McMakin are: a daughter, Mrs. Anna Blair of St. Paul; a son, Mr. John L. Banks, Sr., of Dyersburg, Tenn.; a foster daughter, Mrs. Margaret Alex ander, and three grandchildren, Mr. John Banks, Jr., Miss Silene Wakefield, and Miss Theressa Banks, all of St. Paul. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Tucker, assisted by Rev. L. W. Harris. Burial was made at Oakland cemetery. Simson and Wills Funeral Parlors were in charge.
