A mInting of the charter members of the proposed council of the Knights of Colum bus, to be Organized in this city on July 6, was held in the Y. M. I. hall last evening. The meeting was a large one and included, with two or three excep tions, every person on the charter list. P. J. Brophy was chosen chairman and all the necessary arrangements for the institution of the council and the recep tion and entertainment of the visiting knights and national officers were made. Butte council was the name decided on. A reception committee was appoint ed with C. P. Connolly as chairman and an entertainment committee with John D. Ryan as the presiding officer. The Elks' hall has been secured for the initiatory ceremonies which will coin mencre at I o'clock in the afternoon. The national oflicers and de,-c;: teams accompanying them, will arrive in Butte on Saturday, July 8. The Salt Lake degree team, which is to assist in the institution of the council at Spokane on Sunday, passed through Butte last night. Special Excursion Train.
